Thanks for your interest in the Golden Eagle Wyrkshop!
SAF104: Basic Safety in the Golden Eagle Wyrkshop is an introductory workshop for the Laramie County Community College Golden Eagle Wyrkshop makerspace. You'll need to attend this course either in-person before you can use any equipment at the makerspace. By the end of the course, you should have a firm handle on:
- What makerspaces, makers, and maker culture are
- The mission of our makerspaces
- How the Maker Access Pass (MAP) program works
- What you can (and can't) do in a makerspace, including:
- general workshop rules & policies;
- food, drink, and material policies;
- makerspace equipment policies.
- Makerspace-specific safety rules and emergency procedures, including:
- marked zones within our makerspaces,
- PPE requirements in those zones, and
- how to read safety cards.
- Important safety rules & regulations
- Emergency procedures
Please make sure to enroll in the Maker Access Pass to ensure you receive a badge at the end of this course. You can use your badges to track what you've learned, show potential employers, and (after earning enough badges) even receive fun perks. All of our equipment, hardware, and software requires that you complete SAF104 before use.
