- Other important terms, such as "kerf."
- How to properly hold and clamp work pieces on a miter saw.
- How to make square and miter cuts on a miter saw, including how to square up a board using a miter saw.
- Utilizing accessories with the miter saw such as the built-in clamp, a stop block, and movable fence.
- How to lock down a miter saw.
- Changing scroll saw blades, adjust blade tension and blade speed.
- What TPI means on a saw blade and when to use different types.
- Basic scroll saw practice for cutting irregular shapes.
- How to tilt the table of the scroll saw.
- How to identify the blower on the scroll saw and understand why it’s helpful.
- How to make a cut on a scroll saw on small work pieces.
Please make sure to enroll in the Maker Access Pass and complete SAF150: Woodshop Safety before you complete the WOOD106 badge. You can use your badges to track what you've learned, show potential employers, and (after earning enough badges) even receive fun perks. Almost all of our equipment requires training and badges before use.
