Thanks for your interest in 3DS101: Artec Structured Light Scanning!
This is an online, self-guided workshop, and the first 3D scanning workshop for the University of Wyoming Innovation Wyrkshop makerspace. Immediately after signing up, you'll receive an email with the link and passcode to access the course. 3DS101 can be found by enrolling in your local instance of the Maker Access Pass and navigating to Complete a Workshop > 3D Scanning > 3DS101: Artec Structured Light Scanning.
3DS101 teaches you how to use the state-of-the-art Artec Space Spider structured light 3D scanner. Immediately after signing up, you'll receive an email with the link and passcode to access the course. Please note that this machine uses flashing strobe lights to capture object data.
You'll need to attend this course in-person or online before you can use any Artec 3D scanners. 3DS101 covers scanning applications as well as Artec 3D scanner anatomy and operation. By the end of the 60 minute workshop, you should have a firm understanding of the workflow and software required to use our 3D scanners easily and effectively, as well as a few tips and tricks to ensure you're scanning like a pro. If you have an object you wish to scan, please bring it to the workshop.
Please make sure to enroll in the Maker Access Pass to ensure you receive a badge at the end of this course. You can use your badges to track what you've learned, show potential employers, and (after earning enough badges) even receive fun perks. You must earn your badge before you can reserve the Artec Space Spider 3D scanner.
