Thanks for your interest in MOD120: Learning Blender!

This is an introductory online, self-guided 3D modeling workshop hosted at the University of Wyoming Innovation Wyrkshop makerspace, and teaches you how to get started using Blender, an excellent introductory, free, open-source 3D modeling software. Immediately after signing up, you'll receive an email with the link and passcode to access the course. MOD120 can be found by enrolling in your local instance of the Maker Access Pass and navigating to Complete a Workshop Modeling & Design > MOD120: Learning Blender.

Blender is an amazing tool that is used around the world for creating 3D models, CGI, and animations. Several animated shorts and movies have been made using Blender by itself, or along with other software, such as Netflix's Next Gen, Disney's Frozen, an Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Please feel free to download Blender for free on your personal laptop, or borrow one of our 20 laptops during the course. You'll need to save your work, so make sure to bring a USB or prepare to store it elsewhere!

By the end of the online, self-guided MOD120 workshop, you should have a firm understanding of the workflow necessary to begin 3D modeling in Blender, as well as a few tips and tricks to ensure you're designing like a pro.

Please make sure to enroll in the Maker Access Pass to ensure you receive a badge at the end of this course. You can use your badges to track what you've learned, show potential employers, and (after earning enough badges) even receive fun perks. Almost all of our equipment requires training and badges before use.
